Rambling on and on and on about farming, food and astronomy. Astronomy? Yep. Farming and astronomy go together like garlic and basil, tomatoes and peppers, ice cream and bacon.

Question

katiainmissoula asked: Mind if I ask where your farm is located? I saw a few South Dakota posts but I'm not sure if that's where you live! We could be neighbors!

The farm is in eastern Wisconsin, about 30 miles south of Green Bay, in Manitowoc County. Back in 2008 I had a week free in late June, had a brand new touring motorcycle and my wife wasn’t able to get off work, so I rode out to western Soutn Dakota and spent a week exploring the Badlands, Black Hills, and eastern Wyoming and Montana, and I fell in love with the place. and I’ve gone back every year since then. I’ve spent a lot of time in the area around the Little Bighorn battlefield and Billings in Montana, Sundance Wyoming, and Spearfish and Rapids City. Last summer my wife and I went driving all over that part of the country, going through S.D, then up into Montana, and finally ended up in Cody for a week or so.
